A little mess

littleness

We have entered the dark season here in Scandinavia, it is like there’s a grey fog everywhere during the daytime and not to mention how dark it is when we get up! Still now, at 9.30AM it’s just a really dull light that makes taking photos a proper challenge. I am trying to stay energized but I am missing the sun big time.

A tropical flower moved in yesterday and I am completely in love with its thick leaves and big chunky flowers. Not sure it will survive for that long, I don’t have the best history when it comes to keeping plants alive, haha!

On the other side, I haven’t been this excited about Christmas for a while – give me all the cookies, cinnamon scents, giftwrapping and candles – I can’t wait to start decorating and get the holiday feeling on! Just have to get past Halloween and then it’s on.

We’ve agreed not to do Christmas presents this year, only 1 package each for the boys from us and none for me and the man. We’re planning to book some summer holiday tickets in January (Bali, here we come!) and that’s more than enough of a Christmas present for all of us I think.

Have you started looking at Christmas presents yet? And how many presents do you get your kid/-s? I’d love to know your thoughts on this.

So I’m trying to put together a little Christmas wishlist for the boys but it is so hard! I really dislike loud, flashy plastic toys but somehow our family (thank you guys) always seem to be ignoring my wishlist and get them the loudest, flashiest things just to see the look on the kids’ faces (and the look on mine.. gah).

I’ve been thinking something like THIS paper roller from OlliElla (PlayPa) for Felix and I’m head over heels in love with THESE little natural treasure packs from Grasp+Gather for Maxi. I also love the bedding that Maxi is sitting on in the picture, it comes in a baby and toddler size as well, a perfect Christmas gift, if you ask me! I bought it from Midnatt – but it’s also available HERE at Betón studios.

Would you like me to do a post on some more of my favorite Christmas items for kids? Let me know!

This week I’ve been running around cleaning everywhere, putting everything back into place (seriously, how can it be so messy all-the-time? Life with kids… stuff everywhere). Behind the scenes, all the cabinets are a big mess and Max’s room is mostly used as a laundry stash area… haha!

So, why am I cleaning? On Thursday we’re having a stylist and photographer over to do a reportage of our apartment, how cool is that! Just hoping the skies will clear up by then so that there is some light in the apartment, ugh! Andreas is happy though, anything that can get me to clean this place is a plus in his book.

How exciting! Hope to see the reportage one day. Your home is so beautiful. I also love your new plant, good strategy to keep some little summer feeling 😉
